Tour Details

Visit the capital of Independent and Neutral Turkmenistan – city Ashgabat (in translation “City of Love”). “Las-Vegas” in the desert! So called the tourists of Ashgabat. Magnificent city with unique buildings where the newest architectural structures interlaced with traditional eastern colouring, with cascades of large waterfalls, grand palaces and parks with southern exotic plants.
Tour includes visiting of the “National museum” of Turkmenistan, visiting of Arch of Neutrality, parks of the capital, view of the Presidential Palace, palace of “Rukhiyet” and “Justice” around the Central square. Visiting of the “Ruhy mosque” - the biggest mosque in Central Asia, path of health – “Serdar Yoly”, visiting of the Oriental bazaar (so called “Tolkuchka”) where tourists can buy the original souvenirs and enjoy with variety of colours, doing of fascinating tour around the Ashgabat city.

TOUR ITINERARY:

Day 1 (Mon.): Arrival in Ashgabat
Meet the group at the International Airport of Ashgabat. Transfer to the hotel. Check in and overnight at “Ak Altyn” 4* hotel.

Day 2 (Tue.): Ashgabat
Ashgabat city sightseeing tour, visiting of the park and monument of Independence, excursion to the National Museum of Turkmenistan, visiting of Arch of Neutrality, and the Old Nisa – the residence of Parthian Kingdom. Drive to Kypchak village to visit the Memorial Complex with Ruhy Mosque. Return to the hotel. O/N.

Day 3 (Wed.): Ashgabat
Excursion to the Horse Farm “Bedew”. Exploring the area and getting ourselves familiar with famous Akhalteke horses. Visiting of the old part of the city and Ertogrul Gazi mosque. Excursion to the Cable Car “Asma Yoly”. Return to the hotel. O/N.

Day 4 (Thu.): Ashgabat
Visiting of Oriental bazaar (so called “Tolkuchka”) where tourists can buy the original souvenirs and enjoy with variety of colours. The visiting of “Gulistan” market (so called Russian bazaar), “Altyn Asyr” shopping center near the Russian bazaar - with numerous Turkmen textile shops, good Turkmen carpet store, several national jewelry stores and modern “Berkarar” shopping center. Return to the hotel. O/N.

Day 5 (Fri.): Ashgabat – departure
Transfer to the Ashgabat city airport for International departure. Farewell. End of the program

CARPETS ARE THE PRIDE OF TURKMENS

An Italian traveler Marco Polo was the first to mention the Turkmen carpets in the XIII century. In the XXI chapter of his book he writes: “The finest and the most beautiful carpets are made here and rich fabric of red and other colour are woven here”. Even if by the time of Marco Polo the Turkmen carpets had reached such fineness and beauty, it is not difficult to suppose, that the roots of carpet-weaving go far back to the earlier period of history, because a carpet is the result of creative work of many generations of nameless weavers from the people.
